SparkleSkirts Anonymous

Kimberly sparkled all the way to a personal recordHi, my name is Kimberly and I am a SparkleSkirt addict. I'm assuming if you're reading this, you know exactly what I'm talking about. Whether you just bought your first "workhorse" black SwingStyle or you've got a collection of customs, you and I are SparkleSisters.

In 2012, I laced up my first pair of running shoes and set out for a mile run that would change my life. I was enamored with the glitzy side of the women's running community: the medals, cute athletic wear and how much fun it looked. I quickly learned that running required a lot of hard and sweaty training runs before you ever see that shiny medal.

With my fellow SparkleSisters, Amy and JenniferIn the midst of my training, I was pushing for a new 10k PR. One of those "Proof of Time" PR's that I could proudly submit. The day before my race, I found the glorious SparkleSkirts booth at the race expo. The bright colors and sparkly patterns instantly caught my attention and I walked away as a SparkleSister, with "Diva Blue" in hand.

The next day, I ran my heart out and had a huge PR. I was trained for that 10k, but slipping on that skirt made me feel faster too...AND THE SHORTS DIDN'T RIDE UP! My curvy legs and I knew we found something special.

I wouldn't dare confess the number of SparkleSkirts I own or customs I'm waiting on, but I love the SparkleSkirt community. I can instantly strike up a conversation with other runners, that I don't even know, about our skirts (and love of pockets).

I'm proud to say that I'm a SparkleSister and completely addicted. Unwrapping a new skirt from that tissue is the only motivation I need to lace up and run. What motivates you to lace up?
